Communication between parents and caregivers is extremely important.
Notices are sent home daily informing you of your child's activities. Monthly
newsletters and other information such as flyers about upcoming events and
registration information may also be distributed in your child's carry-all bag.
An online message loop is also being set up to facilitate the distribution of
information quickly.
ADMINISTRATION AND STAFF The Preschool and Children’s Center is
lead by a full-time Director. In addition, we provide an Associate Director
devoted to the families in the infant and toddler program. These
professionals interface with these younger children and their families to
ensure a positive experience and create an atmosphere where children can
feel happy, safe, and comfortable. The center is staffed by dedicated,
professional teachers and assistants. The staff receives continuous first aid
training and CPR certification is done yearly. The Center’s teaching staff is
certified by the Massachusetts Office of Early Education and Care, which
licenses the Center every two years. The Center is also accredited by NAEYC
(National Association for the Education of Young Children).
ASSESSMENT Periodically your child’s teacher will provide you a written
progress report on your child’s growth and development. Our staff will use
this information to make decisions about curriculum content and teaching
approaches. These assessments are conducted every 3 months for our
infants and every 4 months for the toddlers.

Children from 2 months to 33
months are welcome in our Children’
s Center Teddy Bear and Penguin
rooms, which are spacious for both
infants and toddlers to explore
enhance their natural curiosity. We
strive to make the Center an
extension of your home by offering a
warm, loving environment. Rocking
chairs, cuddly toys and warm smiles
are staples in these rooms.
Developmentally appropriate toys and projects as well as outside play make
each day delightful. Teachers are certified by the State with staffing ratios of
1:3 for infants and 1:4 for toddlers. Maximum enrollment in the Teddy Bear
room is seven, and the Penguin room has a maximum capacity of nine.
Children will be offered numerous
activities that will vary by day and by
the developmental level of the child.
Activities will include music, games,
stories, dress-up, imaginary play, play
dough, art, building with blocks or
other manipulatives, water and sand
play, puzzles, trike riding, and dancing.
Children will be given plenty of
opportunity to interact with each other
and to explore their environment. The
staff will cuddle, play, and talk with
each child. They will take direction from
each child to meet their needs and to
stimulate their interests.
Activities will take place in the
classrooms as well as in the Center’
s indoor activity room. Weather
permitting, children will spend time
outdoors daily. All children will
enjoy buggy and stroller rides and
the toddler class will play on our

infants and toddlers will participate
in our music program twice a week.
