The transition from home to the Children’s Center is an adjustment for both parents and children. The staff is extremely sensitive to this process and is keenly aware of the importance of a smooth transition. This is why we provide a child care specialist to interface with the children and their families. Parents and teachers working together can put children at ease creating an atmosphere of harmony and mutual trust.

Circle of Friends Children’s Center promotes a discovery based curriculum which allows children to learn through play. The relaxed, unpressured program develops self esteem through sharing and exploration. Our goal is to offer a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment that will enhance your child’s social, emotional and physical development. Our objective is to enrich and support children and their families while offering the best possible care.

Children from 2 months to 36 months are welcome in our Children’s Center. Our infant (Teddy Bear) room is for babies from 2 months until approximately 15 months. The young toddler (Penguin) classroom is for children between 15 months and two years and the older toddler (Ladybug) classroom is for our two to three year olds. Comfortable chairs, cuddly toys and warm smiles are staples in these rooms. Developmentally appropriate toys and projects as well as outside play make each day delightful. Teachers are certified by the State with staffing ratios of 1:3 for infants and 1:4 for toddlers. Maximum enrollment in the Teddy Bear room is seven, and the Penguin and Ladybug rooms have a maximum capacity of nine.

Communication between parents and caregivers is extremely important. Notices are sent home daily informing you of your child's activities. Monthly newsletters and other information such as flyers about upcoming events and registration information may also be distributed in your child's carry-all bag. ADMINISTRATION AND STAFF The Preschool and Children’s Center is lead by a full-time Director. In addition, we provide an Associate Director devoted to the families in the infant and toddler program. These professionals interface with these younger children and their families to ensure a positive experience and create an atmosphere where children can feel happy, safe, and comfortable. The center is staffed by dedicated, professional teachers and assistants. The staff receives continuous first aid training and CPR certification is done yearly. The Center’s teaching staff is certified by the Massachusetts Office of Early Education and Care, which licenses the Center every two years. The Center is also accredited by NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children).
ASSESSMENT Periodically your child’s teacher will provide you a written progress report on your child’s growth and development. Our staff will use this information to make decisions about curriculum content and teaching approaches. These assessments are conducted every 3 months for our infants and every 4 months for the toddlers.
